Celia Roberton is the owner, managing broker and fearless leader for the House 2 Home Realty team. She is full of energy and ideas and is thrilled to see H2H growing by leaps and bounds since first opening its door in 2008. She credits her success with a new approach and a fabulous team of top-notch agents.
“I had worked as an agent for several local real estate companies,” Celia recalls, “and I decided to venture out on my own and offer a new approach to our local market. Back then, as an agent, I heard it every day -- commission rates for realtors are too high. Fact is, commissions are negotiable, so I began to consider ways I could provide options for sellers.”
On top of that, I knew I had to gather the best agents who would provide the type of service our client’s deserve. “Sometimes, my agents need a sounding board for a difficult deal. Other times, they need a cheerleader,” Celia says. “My goal is to give them instruction and guidance so they can be excellent H2H representatives to their clients. I’m very proud of my team.”
To develop the H2H concept, Celia researched the way real estate companies in other markets were doing business. “Just like other industries, the internet has changed the way real estate is handled. The old belief that agents need an expensive brand name and corporate office in New Jersey is an outdated idea,” she says. “Our real estate market is local but our internet reach is international. Any buyer from down the road to across the world can find our listings on the internet. We don’t have to pay national chain fees to provide this service to our local clients. By eliminating that middle-man, we are able to pass along the savings to Southern Illinoisans and keep the money in our clients’ pockets who will spend it locally.”
Celia says House 2 Home’s business model has been done for years in other areas of the country. “All I did was introduce the concept to Southern Illinois. “I make a little and you save a lot! Everybody’s happy,” she says.
Buying and/or selling a house are generally the largest monetary transactions most people ever make in their lifetime. Celia says she has worked hard to build a reputation for providing trustworthy, well-researched advice. “I am passionate about providing the best possible service,” Celia says. “I work with you every step of the way to make the home buying or selling process as stress-free as possible. I’m committed to the highest level of personal service and meeting your individual needs.”
Beyond her full-time career as managing broker, Celia has four sons and three grandsons. Celia believes in giving 100% in business but will still tell anyone who asks, “Family always comes first.” Celia also enjoys working out for a healthier lifestyle, shoe shopping and cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals!
Her bucket list includes “having a pet dolphin, learning to fly a helicopter and, of course, continuing to grow H2H into a premier real estate company that provides not only great service but lower commissions for its clients.
